Spiritual Path: Healer, Explorer, & Artist
Interests: Music, art, crafting, crocheting, reading, learning new lightwork modalities, camping (especially alone in the winter), reiki, theater performance, yoga, science, exploring the esoteric, helping and teaching others, traveling, yoga of various types, exploring the mountains and their mountain streams, learning from the experiences of others, finding new paths, and many more
Creating: I want to create a sound sprit for myself. One that is at peace and no longer feels the need to control everything or to feel guilt. I want to be a balanced, stable member of the community that helps people to comprehend the importance of the roles we all play in personal and social evolution as a preparation for our ascension to a higher plane of understanding.
Awakening: My family was never religious and for a long time the my idea of "religion" being the same as "spirituality." I have always collected stones and crystals, even when I was little. I have also always had headaches and migraines since I was about 9 years old, and have seen practically every doctor. None of them was successful in helping me, so I started casually looking in to the use of herbal remedies as well as started acupuncture treatment and body work. In about 2005, I resumed a regular yoga and pilates practice that included meditation. Later that same year, my former roommate and I were searching online for alternative healers in our neighborhood and stumbled across the Indigo Answers website. The owner of the site offered Reiki classes, so my roommate and I started going. She also was the founder and head administrator of Light and Energy Workers Association (LEWA), and I joined that group, attending a plethora of alternative healing lectures. I have found that pushing through the boundaries and negativity that has been ingrained in me (and that I often have a tendency to perpetuate) is an arduous and painful process, but also is essential for discovering and understanding the self. My spirit grows and learns every day from every positive or negative action or reaction that I express. I am deeply indebted to those people who have stuck by me all this time and who encouraged me to break the ties to my own self-imposed boundaries, to the ego, and to open myself to my own spiritual growth and development. May it never end.

Meredith's latest blog's
Currently I am a pediatric RN in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. I have experience with various types of complementary and alternative therapy and energy healing. I am an Usui Reiki Master Teacher, a soon-to-be ordained non-denominational minister, a former assistant to an acupuncturist / herbalist, I consistently utilize stone and crystal healing, and am now starting to explore the use of sound therapy. I consider Light Work to be a highly sophisticated, integral part of my nursing patient care practice. I am also a firm believer in the power of human touch (whether it be a physical touch or an emotional presence) to soothe, comfort, and to heal when there is an imbalance in the body causing physical illness. I like to surround myself with like-minded people, because I feel is it essential to my own healing and sense of belonging, but I still get frustrated with myself and my own spiritual state because I don't feel as advanced as other people in this field. Right now I am just trying to be myself (first I have some heavy soul searching to do before I can fully understand who or what that ''self" truly is), and am trying to adapt the ideals of alternative medicine for further implementation in my nursing practice. I am embarking on this long and winding road by taking responsibility for my actions while at the same time releasing old scars and letting go of the outcome.
