My grandmother was born in Romania. She traveled with her Gypsy parents throughout Europe until she was 19, at which time she met my Grandfather, who was a very staunch English man. They immigrated to this country to raise their children, including my father Aubrey.

So, I grew up at my grandmothers knee learning to read the Tarot, and listening to her stories of the "old country." Supposedly, her mother, my great-grandmother had wandered off into the woods when she was 17, and was gone for several months. When she returned, she was very pregnant. She insisted that she had found her way into the land of Faerie and that the child's father was not human. Her story was met with mixed reactions.. some believed her and others did not. My grandmother was a result of that union.

Mabel, my grandmother, was a very petite woman. She stood approximately 4 foot nine inches and as an older woman had long silver hair that reached almost to her knees. She was quite unique.

Anyway, my father's name literally translates into "King of the Elves."
He was a very quiet man who loved music and reading. I spent a lot of time with him outdoors in quiet places reading books and getting into intense conversations about the how and why of existance, the probability of other life in the universe and the meaning of life in general. It was from him that I received my love of the written word and my appreciation of music.

From my Baptist/Quaker mother I developed my quest for knowledge of world religion and beliefs. She was an outgoing soul who nurtured and fed everyone around her with good old fashioned New England cooking as well as the wisdom of her soul.

I believe that you choose your parents for any given lifetime.. and I believe that I chose mine well. I miss them both dearly.

There are so many pathways to be explored, so many interesting people to meet, and so many ideas and concepts that make our world the diverse plethora of belief that it is.

It's a wonderful world.
