Kabbalah musings. Thinking about Netzach
Don't believe this calendar time - in my time it's Thursday afternoon, August 9, 2007
I guess I've started something with this daily blog. Do I keep it up, let it go. Well for now I'm considering it my daily pages and seeing if any of the ideas are worth keeping. Read them at your own risk - I'm not editing anything!
Let's see...Netzach. My favorite little spheirot. It's parked between Hod - the Splendor of Life and Ti'ferret- the heart of integration.
Little Netzach - no big deal. Just a little lemniscate to navigate. That little way station between worlds, that's all. But for all of you Ascention Masters, a vital little world to be sure. You see, I think of Netzach like an hourglass. You've entered the Tree and the garden and have some keys to the castle, but you've still got to get there from here, nu?
For awhile you wander in the hallowed halls filled with riches beyond your belief. You touch, you smell, you revel in the luxury of abundance. Everything glows here, colors are more luminous, beings more graceful. Oh to live in Hod forever! But restless spirits move on grids, drawn along currentls of destiny, moving, making, unmaking, Hooooood.
Sooner or later your travels take you through Netzach and this is not unlike meeting Hecate at the crossroads. One path takes you in or out, no matter how many roads lead to the crossroad. And cross you must, but first you must change.
For me Netzach is that portal that squeezes us, challenging us to give up all that we wish to carry with us. If our direction is 'up' so to speak, whatever is dense within us must be released. Only the gatekeeper knows what it is for you, but surely you will be expected to leave your meat hanging on the hook of the world, like Isis. If one let's go, passes through, vast new worlds open. Still, one must release and let go, literally of all that is solid, familiar, needful, or of time. To move before you are ready is suicide, to step up with blind faith is to lose the direction. No, for me Netzack is that place of the narrows eluded to in myth, where to enter the current one must know that the stars are there and guide one, because one has received their guidance and grown stronger because of thier ways. One has the deep, proven assurace that one is, in fact, led.
To pass is to vanish from time as one ascends and what reforms will be formed of the crossing itself.
Now for some the other way is thier direction. They have moved from the spheres of lightest being and now descend into the realms of time and space. Again the narrow passage where each particle that slips through takes on density, form and weight. How small the way is! How tight the suit! Yet the wonder of the senses is heady, fruity with the syrup of harvest. To be is to eat, and once eaten the very substance changes you and the gateway is closed. This is the truth of the Magen David. One must become the other to enter their realm.
An easy idea - this passage through Netzach, but in truth, such a challenge. It's placement is no accident for it's where we ready ourselves to enter new worlds. It is the essence of crossing, the sphere of vulnerability, the orb of oblivion, and open skies.
Ah, Netzach, my friend, once again you ask me to cross...
