Spirit of the Peaks
The Spirit of the Peaks
Do you hear the sound of the river rushing by
Do you smell the scent of Autumn in the sky
Do you taste the golden chestnuts brown and sweet
Do you feel the cruching leaves beneath your feet..
Maybe you sense something different week by week
And do you see the wonders of the Peaks
Can you hear the call of the winter song,
Can you smell the ice as you walk along,
Can you taste the mist that’s in the air
Can you feel the darkness everywhere
Maybe you sense that everything is bleak
And do you see the wonders of the Peaks.
Is that a bird you heard just then,
Is it flowers you can smell in every glen
Is the taste of Spring a blessed gift
Is the hugging of a tree a perfect lift
Maybe you sense warmth upon your cheek
And do you see the wonder of the Peaks
When you hear the summer creeping in
When you smell the fragrance of everything
When you taste the heat of the yellow sun
When you feel that all your work is done
Maybe you sense that with a tiny tweak
You can embrace The Spirit of the Peaks.
Will you hear the reiki call within
Will you smell the lotus flower it brings
Will you taste the aromas day by day
Will you heal with love in your own way
Maybe you sense, and maybe you seek
But you have the guidance of the Spirit of the Peak.
