A Challenge for ALL 144,000

So this morning, while in the shower I was thinking (I have been accused of thinking to much). But I was thinking about what the TRUE meaning of the number 144,000 souls? I have heard as well as read alot on this subject, however somthing just does not add up to me. SO..... I was hoping that ALL can look within themselves to come up with a meaning/answer to where you know within yourself what the true meaning behind the 144,000 souls. Not what we are taught in the Bible, however I would like someones interuptation of that meaning. I am interested in hearing your feelings on this matter.
