Intentional Community...It Takes a Village

It takes a village...

I woke up the other morning early, with that going through my head, and with all these revelations about what we need for the New Earth communitites.

You see, intentional communitites are not only needed to help us survive...things like earth changes, etc...they are how we THRIVE.

They are how humans are meant to live. Not shared houses, perse, but villages. Where all the village's needs are basically met within the village, by one another.

For research, see:

Little House on the Prairie
Big Eden
Northern Exposure
Doc Hollywood

and others. I'd love to hear YOUR recommendations on that!

Suburbs are trying to emulate this by bringing in their own grocery stores, video stores, clinics, etc. but they're totally missing the mark, because they bring in outside corporate sources for these things, when RIGHT in those neighborhoods are people who would
just LOVE to offer those services. But those people are working for OTHER corporate interests, doing things that bring NO joy to their hearts and offer NOTHING to their neighborhoods.

We need villages where the one or ones who love to bake make enough bread and muffins and cake and pie for everyone in the village and are fairly and prosperously compensated for it. Where those who love to sew can create and mend clothing for everyone else. Where those who love to play with and care for children can tend the children of the others, and where those who love to teach can teach them. Where those who love to garden can share those goodies with the village, and where those who love to do carpentry can build the houses and furniture, etc. etc. etc.

I think you get the picture. :-)

We all have those things that we most LOVE to do. And those things are MEANT to contribute to the welfare of a whole village.

Now, not EVERY need can be met within the village, and not EVERY talent can be expressed fully in the village. Some specialties are more rare, and/or are meant to be offered to a wider audience. And that is also meant to be. Cities will simply be villages all
gathered together, where people with those kinds of specialities will be able to reach the ones THEY are here to serve, and where people with specialized needs can get them met.

So. Upon getting this download of information, my partner and I have decided we want to live somewhere just outside of Portland, Oregon and start attracting others to
create this kind of village. We're looking at Sherwood (about 45 minutes away), and open to other places about that distance from the main city.

You see Shannon's talent, professional dance and choreography, is more rare and meant to be shared with a larger audience, so she is meant to be near the city.

My offering is spiritual teaching, which can serve both my village AND a wider audience, so that also resonates for me.

We want to rent a house with at least 3 bedrooms in a place like Sherwood, where we are closer to nature but close enough to the city. And we want to draw other likeminds to that same place to create a true village.

That's our intention. I just thought I'd share it.

Namaste,

Satina
