A poem about my dad

One day while I was walking,
Beneath the sky so blue,
I saw a man drive past,
A man that I once knew.
His eyes were hard and troubled
Like the rocks he knows so well
Sun within his smile had now become his rubble.
As I stood beside the road with dirt flying past my face,
I saw the hands that once held me,
Drive to some other place.
It seems to me, that time stood still
As I saw my dad drive by,
All the promises he had broken and the ones he always will.
He kept on driving,
as I knew he would,
Some things don't change, while others thrive.
Guess which one I am today?
