A poem I wrote inspired by the kabbalistic sephirah of Yesod.

----------------------

Yesod,
Reflect my inner aspects back unto me;
Hold steady your gleaming mirrors
As I confront myself in thine eyes.

Oh, world of sentiment and of suffering,
How may I cleanse my soul-self in thee?

Help me! Aid me in the process of self-conversion
As I battle to re-form this distorted body of shame
Into a resplendent Beauty worthy of the task at hand

How long must I peer through the veil of base emotion;
Perceive naught but muted colours and the lifeless husks of forms
How long must I go on, drained of all True Essence,
A walking shadow in a land as grim as I?

Yet I am no walking shadow!
I will raise myself above this imitation of Reality!
This unbearable glamour will soon dissolve by power of my Will
I will shatter this haunted abode so that I may build anew
A glorious dwelling place of perfected quality and unwavering strength.

And I will employ all the tools I may;
My strength of Will to smash through forms unwanted.
My boundless Love to amass the forces once more
That I may new foundations on a more expansive plot lay.
And my vital Intelligence to construct a perfected nature
block by arduous block

And when the work is done,
I will clamber atop the roof of this shining edifice
And look to the realms of gold above.
