NO MANUAL FOR PARENTHOOD!!!
Posted March 24th, 2008 by Darien Spirit
Wouldn't be nice if each one of our kids come with a manual? This isn't the case though! Being a parent is like diving into the ocean, you know where you are going, but you don't know what are you getting yourself into.
It can be a blessing or it can be a curse, it can be a joy or it can be a pain. As parenst you are hold responsible for you kid's future, you are responsible for what he/she turns out in the future. Your actions can either damage or heal, teach or not. I ask myself why would my son choose someone like me to be his mom... and the reason I ask myself this is because, no matter how hard you try, no matter how much you love your kids, nothing guarantees you that he/she will turn out a man or woman with morals, good virtues, values ,etc...
You can put them in a private school, with the hopes of giving them a better education, you buy them clothes and take them to the movies, etc... becuause their happiness is your happiness. Boys for one side in my personal opinion, have it a bit harder than girls, that's just my opinion and that's because I have a son. Boys often feel they have to prove themselves to other boys, they are thaught to be strong and that crying is a symbol of weakness... Boys are faced with the transition from boyhood to manhood in a blink of an eye. I see it everyday with my boy. At times we seem like brother and sister..lol.
On the other hand, girls have to deal with cramps, periods, self image conflict, acceptance, trying to fit in, and if the mother isn't present, it's even harder. Although at times you can have both of your parents and still feel lonely, and deatched... And if they are the only child, the problems seem even harder to deal with, because there no sister or brother to rely on and they don't always can open up to their parents, therefore this makes it easy prey for bullies, bad company and bad influences.
They are more sensitive and can be very selfish as well. THERE'S NO MANUAL FOR PARENTHOOD... because all the self help books in the world, can teach you what you really need to know about your kids, books are your references, but your kids,,,are the real homework.
