What's in a Name?? Well I thought about that...my old user name bowtie57...what was that about? Most folks here thought it was to do with a bowtie as in the first definition above. Some might of even thought with my passion for cooking maybe number two was it...sorry, not it!!! It was number three...It was my love of cars (Chevy in particular) that spurred on the name. I have been using that user name since 1994 and the old Windows 3.1 daze (anyone remember 3.1 and AOL?) Anyway the name came from the fact I owned (and still do) a 1957 Chevorlet that I happen to have had for a little over 30 years now. And so the first time I logged onto the internet back in those early online days I decided I was going to be bowtie...and so it was and still is...but you ask - ok where are you going with this...??
Well, one of my newest Lightworker friends and sister Pixie posted this to my guestbook about the same time I was just starting to consider a name change...
"... Move beyond any attachment to names." Every war and every conflict between human beings has happened because of some disagreement about names. It's such an unnecessary foolishness, because just beyond the arguing there's a long able of companionship, set and waiting for us to sit down. What is praised is one, so the praise is one too, many jugs being poured onto a huge basin. All religions, all this singing, one song.
The differences are just illusion and vanity. Sunlight looks slightly different on this wall than it does on that wall and a lot different on this other one, but it is still one light. We have borrowed these clothes, these time-and-space personalities, from a light, and when we praise, we pour them back in.

Ok, now I know the quote means much more than a silly user name "but" there was an Ah-Ha moment be cause I had just been thinking about a change in names to reflect my spiritual path and changes. So then began a quest to find that new name that reflects where I'm at now...something to not necessarily be attached to but something that serves in the here and now to be a reminder to me of my path in this time. I thought of a couple names that I thought sounded really "cool" but after meditating on them a bit didn't seem to have the feeling I was searching for. Then one night after meditation I was chatting with Leaf and had left my meditation music going. I like to listen to David & Steve Gordon's "Shaman's Vision Journey" as one of my meditation choices. While we were chatting a song called Southwind Meeting (Animal Spirits) was playing and Leaf all of a sudden said something about Southwind...wow it hit me like a ton of bricks...I Googled it...Kansas came up as named after the Kansa tribe which means "the people of the South Wind" - Wow I spent the better part of my early awareness years in Kansas as a child!! South is the energy of fire and passion combined with the air of intellect...OK I like it!! This was just the first of several other synchronicities that came with the name that are to trivial to write about but it was settled in my mind...Southwind it is...and the timing couldn't have been better...with the meaning behind Easter and spring, of renewal - a rebirth of sorts - I now move beyond my attachment to the old name bowtie57 to a new one to celebrate a renewal of sorts in my life, one that no church would have dared brought about...a sense of being one with mother earth, nature, and spirit, instead of "I am a master of the earth and separate from god and spirit"...because let's face it, no matter where you are in you path/beliefs right now, we all agree on one thing..."We are One"!
Blessings to all and a special thanks to Leaf for the triggering the name and Pixie for the gentle nudge!!
Love and Light!
