Contemplation for Equinox and Holy Thursday
I wish you all blessings on this Equinox Day!
Here in New Enlgand it has been Blustery as March is meant to be.
There has been a front come through and the barometric pressure
has changed.
Today is Holy Thursday the celebration of Christ's last
seder supper before Crucifixion. This is the one day
that I aim to attend church or "mass" (raised Catholic)
I feel it is one of the holiest days of the year.
This year i went to a UU service, which centered on
"remembrance" "Do this in memory of me" and not just
this holy ONE who gets so much press, but Gutenberg
and others. But remembering those in our community
who will not be remembered so long.
today is also marked by Equinox. I feel the message
I am getting is to try to balance my life better, be
more "equal" with myself.
Here is a brief reflection...
radiant sunset sky
amber uplighting wind tumbled clouds
A waxing Gibbous Moon
appeared as a single imperfect pearl
above a layer of sweater sky
set right beside the stone church
as if it had been painted there
wood worn sanctuary waiting
to be filled up with love
and remembrance
cradles a dozen church goers
in inky blood fading into shadows
we are creating something
we are gathered
He is here.
Blessed be the day of Equality
when Darkness and Light do not compete.
Blessed be.
