I feel compelled to share this e-mail with you guys as this seems like a case that should maybe be supported. Here is the link to The Wilderness Society's homepage so you can check it out: http://www.wilderness.org/AboutUs/index.cfm?TopLevel=About

The time to act on behalf of a wildlife-rich Alaska landscape is now.

The clock is ticking on a land transfer that would open a major piece of the Yukon Flats National Wildlife Refuge to oil and gas exploration and development. The public comment period closes very soon, on March 25.

We are getting closer to our goal of $50,000 that will enable us to continue our education of policymakers on Capitol Hill and develop strategy to protect this important wild place. Already, we've mobilized tens of thousands of Americans to speak out against the shortsighted plan for Alaska's Yukon Flats National Wildlife Refuge. But we still need your help.

Make a tax-deductible gift of $20 or more to The Wilderness Society today. Help us spread the word and win this fight.

No matter how big or small, your secure online donation will have a vital and direct impact on our efforts.

We know that oil and gas drilling are not compatible with the purposes of this pristine wildlife refuge. We know that the pollution, noise and activity that come with oil exploration and development would come at a high cost to refuge wildlife.

But others - federal officials, Congress, the public - still need to be educated. And soon.

We only have days before the March 25 deadline.

Make a contribution today to help us spread the message.

Thank you for your ongoing support to protect America's wild lands.

Sincerely,

William H. Meadows
