About Tara: In Hindu mythology, Tara is a Star Goddess who encompasses all time and the
spark of life. She extends this energy to us, fulfilling our spiritual hunger. In so
doing, Tara strengthens our understanding of the Universe and its mysteries and gives us
a glimpse of our destiny.

Tara's name literally means "star." In works of art she is depicted as beautiful as the
silver turret points of the night sky, young and playful. From her celestial home Tara
challenges us to live life fully no matter the day or season, looking to the stars and
our hearts to guide us.

The Myth of White Tara

The myth of the White Tara began when she showed up as the tear of Avalokiteshvara, also known as Chenzereng, who the Dali Lama is a reincarnation of. She appeared when Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha of all Buddhas, moved into a state of compassion... when his mind and his heart met in wisdom... and the suffering he saw because the the lack of this balance, made him cry. Then he could see Her... or it is said she appeared. For that is who she is, the compassion expressed in that tear. It could be said the tear cleared the eye to see her. She is the expression of compassion. It is time to let the waters flow... let our tears cleanse and nourish... let it dissove fear in all its manifestations especially hatred. Like the water thrown on the Wicked Witch of the west... melting, melting... let the fear melt as we see we are one with all.

Joining in Love

those of you who know me-know of my respect and love for the tibetan culture

all that has been occurring in china has disturbed me--wondering what we can do as individuals--sign peitons-prayers etc

this morning a friend sent sent me a article

as i sadly read it--i heard the voice of the tara with the following message-i do not channel so when something comes thru this strongly i know it needs to be heard---that if we can share our radiaent heart energy ro one another-may it ripple forth into one wave of love

and reach those who it needs to--our own silent actions of unity

you see before you times of upset-chaos- times of rebellion -needless violence-times where you rise up against onea nother in fear-mindless hatred
