The Elevator
I parked my car in the hospital's attached garage. I entered the building through a set of doors that I thought would lead me to the main entrance and the information desk where I could ask directions. I looked around the empty hallway and started walking, hoping to find someone along the way to guide me.
Before long I came to the end of a corridor without meeting anyone. I saw a sign on the door at the end that read "elevator". I went through the door and found a nurse speaking to a woman who was holding the hand of a little boy. The nurse was trying the help them find their way.
I waited for her to finish helping the woman and boy. There was a maintenance elevator just to the right of us. A hospital worker disembarked from this elevator as the nurse was speaking in hushed tones to the woman and boy. Then I heard her tell them that it would probably be faster for them to just take the maintenance elevator. She pushed the button to call the elevator back.
The nurse was giving final reminders as the doors whooshed open. The woman thanked the nurse and stepped inside the elevator. But my heart stopped because I saw there was no elevator, only empty space where it should have been.
It was too late! I could not get my voice to work! I saw the woman and boy step over the edge and fall from sight. I was horrified and tried to scream for help but my voice was gone. I heard myself making harsh sounds like labored whispers. With all my might, I tried to scream for help.
It was no use. My voice disappeared with the horror of watching them fall to their deaths. The nurse, had turned away as the woman approached the elevator doors, so she didn't know what had happened. I tried to get her to help me but she couldn't understand me. I was desperate, horrified and helpless and knew that the nurse meant no harm, yet would probably suffer forever for her part in the deaths of the innocent woman and little boy.
As I cried in silent frustration, I woke up.
I hope someone who reads this can help me interpret the symbols. It really bothers me and I can't stop crying. Even though I know it was just a dream, I watched two innocent people fall to their deaths.
Could it be a message about healers and the magnitude of responsibility that goes with it? I stood helpless, watching, without a voice. I don't know, but it saddens me. I hope someone can help me understand the meaning.
Love and Light,
VirtualEvie
