selling a vehicle to God

Today I talked to a christian/baptist for over an hour about God. He was interested in buying my truck. He kept apologizing because he called me a "captive audience" ( because I was trying to sell something to him). That made me giggle. I told him I was saturated on the subject, its basically all I think about anymore. A helpful word can come from anywhere. When he was talking part of my mind saw him as a robot. That use to be enough for me to turn off completely. You cant do this and you can do that, I use to be this and now Im that. It says this in this book and thats all that matters. I felt he was touched but repetition lacks a certain quality, to me at least. God is always moving, as we are, for something to engage my spirit it usually has an organic quality. I listened intently because something inside me tells me that at some point I may have to relate the change to this person (well the group he represents), help this person with his (their) shame. He told me the difference between us was that he had two spirits inside of him, the holy ghost and his own, as opposed to my just one. He wasnt trying to be a weiner, in fact he was trying to "save" me. When I told him I was a Buddhist, he apoligized to me, like it was a rash or something. He then told me that I look to deep. He put his little book on the hood of my truck and said there is the answer, the only answer, and I was in the habit of over intellectualizing so I missed it. Now this hits home a little, that is something Ive done in the past and I felt a spark underneath it. Its not what he was trying to tell me, if I followed his logic I would have discounted the conversation entirely. There is something though that that can be applied to in my life, right now, to help align something. So I will walk around with that and as these things go, it will fit like a puzzle piece when the time is right. Within his line of speaking I could feel that preacher behind him, telling him dont look to deep, all you need is this book, this is the absolute word of God and everybody else is screwed, just remember dont look to deep, we will now pass around the tithing bowl...dig deep brothers and sisters!
.
How to listen to someone without taking their dogma on. How to talk to someone without putting yours on them. That is a slippery bitch! When it comes down to it, any cog in your evolutionary machine that was placed there through taking on someone else's belief will have to be re-created in your energy. Your bridge is your bridge. You think you are helping someone by picking them off the ground but how do you know that part of their bridge isnt on the ground? Until they find it in the dust they will keep falling down. The bridge of one, we walk through with nothing and become the inheritors of everything. ( He didnt buy the truck )
