Mothers and Sons
Until I had my son, I never knew ho hard it was to be a mother. Not just because I am single mom, but to the fact that even though he is my blood, we can be so different from each other.
I remember being single and full of dreams and had the party-girl mentality. But when my son was born, it took me about 2-3 years to fully digest this change, to understand that it wasn't about me anymore, but it was about him.
Yet, the relationship between mothers and sons is beyond words. We wrestle with each other and against our feelings because at times we can't seem to meet half way. You love him, you sacrifice for him, and you dislike him at times when he refuses to do his part of the shores.
He sees you as his everything and he is everything to you. You can't stand his girlfriend, but you need to accept that he is a man and that there will be “OTHER WOMEN" in his life, besides you...Lol
Yet, he becomes jealous of any man that interferes between you and him.
He loves you home made food, yet he rather eat junk food or the neighbors mac & cheese..
He hates PDA, yet at home he can't stay away from you.
At the end, no matter how many times he leaves, how many girlfriends he had, how far he moves to make his own life...we will always be " MOTHER AND SON".
To my beloved son Ezra, who day by day shows me the real meaning of love, patience and compassion.
