Tonight Seems Strange

All day has had an aura of weirdness so I guess I shouldn't be surprised that this night is a continuation of that strangeness.

As I was beginning to write I could hear unusual noises outside. What kind of noises? I can't exactly describe them except to say they are just different from the norm. Kind of like moans and little pops and zips and clicks. That sort of thing. I got up and looked out but everything appeared normal. "Normal" as compared to what? Hmm.

Finally, I went out on the deck. It's cold out there. Of course it's winter in these mountains so that was no great revelation. But then I began feeling the strangeness. It seemed to permeate the very air. Like a hovering presence all around. The air even had a spooky smell to it. And I could almost see the substance of the air jumping like it had a case of the heebie-jeebies. Ruffling my hair but there is no wind.

Tonight I wouldn't be surprised to see a UFO land and the little fellers come down the ramp and do a boogie woogie in the middle of the highway. If they do I think I'll just go out and join in.
