THEE AWAKENING

The Awakening

I awoke with a funny feeling in the pit of my stomach
There was an ache I had never felt before.
The tingle tickled the back of my throat.

I could hear voices with in my ear
Calling my name
I was not afraid
Nor going insane

The feeling that overwhelmed me was of peace and joy
More excited than a child with a new toy

I felt more alive than I had in my entire life
I was airy and young
Fresh and anew

I clearly heard the Blue Jays
I heard their message with every whistle they sung
I felt the love of God
Within each drop of morning dew

I knew who I was
I felt my life's purpose
Taking control of me
A new awareness I did see

With a vengeance I felt as if I was a warrior
Going to war for a cause that was worth dying for
No longer worried about being rich or poor

I awakened this morning
My life has changed
I now can answer their call
When the angels call my name

There messages come to me loud and clear
No longer life or death do I fear
