Soul Mates & Twin Souls

At the time of my awakening, I and my awakening partner read many things on Twin Souls and this article was the closest to OUR experience that we had read.  I know this won't resonate with everyone but wanted to share this as I found it so extremely helpful because we were both married and I could see how my husband fit the soul mate section perfectly and he fit the twin soul perfectly.  So I was extremely excited when I found this back in April 2004.

Soul Mates & Twin Souls

As we ascend back to the God Source we will encounter many soul mates who come to us in different ways. These may be a parent, sibling, uncle, friend or causal acquaintance. They may also appear as an adversary or even the person who rear-ends you in a parking lot. Each one brings a specific piece of yourself which has yet to be integrated. Each one is a mirror for your particular reflection of God, creating an opportunity for growth and expansion. Some will be with you for a lifetime, others for a few years, months or even days. Each soul mate will have an impact on your soul’s direction and spiritual path.

A group of souls who share a common vibrational frequency are referred to as a soul group. These are souls who have shared common incarnations and have some group karma to work out. Soul groups overlap each other and in the largest sense all of humanity is part of the same soul group. There are family soul groups, cultural soul groups, soul groups related to race, gender, geographic location and ethnicity. Everything about your particular incarnation has been determined by the soul groups of which you are a part.

As we evolve through our human incarnations, we will encounter a succession of soul mates, each more closely reflecting our exact vibration than the last. The last such soul mate we encounter will be from our original soul mate pair (more below) and will be the partnership which brings lasting peace and joy in the human/physical realm. It is a relationship marked by a deep sense of belonging and comfort. This can only occur when one has reached a place of balance and peace within oneself. One would only encounter their original soul mate pair near the end of their earthly incarnations, after most of their karmic imbalances had been cleared. This is a relationship that is “all things”; mate, best friend, lover, confidant, etc. because it exists as the perfect externalized balance between two incarnate souls.

Near the end of a soul’s human incarnations, one will encounter their twin soul. This is the opportunity to integrate the opposite polarity within oneself. The two will be energetically drawn together like the poles of a magnet, providing the opportunity for a return to wholeness. Not all twin soul encounters produce this outcome on the first try. Many factors must play out and much karma must be overcome and cleared. Much depends on the soul’s willingness to sacrifice their existing life for the Divine yearning the twin soul awakens. It is also possible that one of the twins will grow from the encounter and continue on the path and the other will remain where they are for the time being, depending on the choices made. The growth of one twin always assists the other whether they are physically together or not.

The following is a more in-depth description of these relationships.  

Twin Souls

In our pre-physical existence, we were androgynous (neither male or female), existing in a purely energetic realm. We experienced wholeness and balance from within ourselves.  When we initially came into physicality there was a separation energetically within us to allow for the experience of physical matter, which needs two polarities to exist. That separation was between the external and internal aspects of ourselves. The internal aspects were segregated into the female half and the external aspects were segregated into the male half. When we are in physicality, we exist as two opposite energies, male and female. Our other half is referred to as a twin flame or twin soul. Your twin soul is an identical energetic vibration to yours, except it exists as the “flip side of the coin.”

It is very rare to meet one’s twin soul because they would only be encountered if one was very close to completing their physical incarnations. The increasing vibration of the earth is causing everything to be sped up and as a result, there are more twin soul meetings than ever before. It is also likely that one would meet their twin soul while in the process of Kundalini ascension. When this is the case, the twin soul meeting would greatly accelerate the Kundalini energy, being the external experience of the merging of male and female polarities which is happening internally. This is not to say that meeting one’s twin is necessary for the Kundalini process, it is not. The meeting of twin souls is in God’s hands. If it is needed to happen for each soul, it will. If there is something that energetically needs to happen between you and your twin soul which physical circumstances seem to prohibit, God will find a way. It is very common for twin souls to meet in the ethers, even years before the actual physical meeting.

Most people mistake a soul mate for a twin soul. The meeting with a twin soul is unmistakable in it’s magnitude. There is always a very strong energetic recognition, usually energy will be felt streaming through the body because the external confrontation with one’s exact polar opposite creates a huge energetic vacuum in which one’s remaining karma is pulled to the surface to be cleared. One will be pulled to the twin soul with a force that is nearly beyond imagination and it will be unlike any attraction previously felt. The twin soul meeting awakens a deep inner knowing that one must follow, like a salmon swimming upstream, at all costs, the journey must be made. The force of a twin soul meeting begins an energetic merging of the male/female energies within each soul, this is the sole (pun intended)  purpose for the meeting of twin souls.

Twin soul meetings are intense to say the least. It is not the romanticized version from the movies. Meeting one’s twin soul has nothing to do with creating some idealized version of “happily ever after”. The purpose of the twin soul meeting is to energetically assist you in integrating the opposite polarity within yourself as you ascend back into androgyny (wholeness and completion).

Twin soul relationships follow the same energetic pattern as everything else in the universe, that of expansion and contraction. In relationship terms, it is experienced as attract and repel. The usual pattern is to feel very attracted to the twin soul as the energies merge, then to feel repelled by them as the energies try and stabilize. This pattern is repeated many times, often times causing great emotional havoc.

Twin souls usually have similar physical features and will usually feel more like brother/sister than like passionate lovers. The bond will be deep and beyond the physical realm. In the lifetime when the twin souls are to meet and an energetic integration is to take place, they will always incarnate as male and female because they need to embody the polar opposites in order to reflect the opposing energy for the other. This is the same thing which occurs with all male/female relationships, except with the twin soul, it is of far greater intensity.

It is very common for twin souls to meet when they are not physically in a position to be together (one may be married, for instance). This difficulty is not by accident. A twin soul meeting is intended to bring out all energetic blockages within the person to allow the merging of heaven and earth within one’s consciousness. The final result will be an energetically androgynous (whole and balanced) person, complete within themselves. For this to happen, one will endure great difficulties, will experience intense and painful surrenders and have every perception, belief and external structure shaken and torn down. The journey back to our Source is not for the faint of heart nor for those who focus on external gratification and worldly happiness.

If you have met your twin soul, or suspect you have, keep in mind that God’s propose in bringing the two of you together is not for you to live happily ever after in the worldly sense. It is to create further balance within you, to bring you an external reflection of yourself from which you can achieve more complete balance within, as you learn to love yourself more completely. If you are encountering difficulties in being with your twin soul or in the relationship in general, remember to continue to surrender the pain and difficulty to God. Ask for assistance in bringing the light of Truth within yourself, use the situation to deepen your spirituality and learn more about yourself. Things will unfold just as they are able, in Divine time and order. Keep your focus on God.

It is natural that your twin soul will awaken very deep feelings of love within you, your twin will touch places within you that you didn’t even know were there. This can be very confusing and painful, especially if you view the twin soul relationship as something that is supposed to turn out to be a happily-ever-after romantic love. It is not. It is simply another step in the journey back to God…

Soul Mates

After the initial division into twin souls, each segregated soul was then paired with another soul who was energetically complementary. Not an exact opposite like the twin, but a similar vibration, holding the opposite gender’s polarity. These pairs are the original soul mate pairs which then came into physicality. These souls balance each other, each bringing to the physical experience what the other lacks. Rather than being the catalyst for the integration of the opposing polarity, as the twin soul is, the original soul mate pair is meant to be a partner, the balancing and stabilizing external counterpart to your own energy.

This is the relationship that most closely resembles our human version of happily ever after. It is an easy and deep bond that is not based on anything external. The original soul mate pair complements and balances each other energetically, one being grounding and more externally focused and one being more internally focused and less grounded on their own.

Summary

As we ascend back to the Godhead, energetically we draw to ourselves ever-increasing identical energies in many forms, retracing the path which was created as we branched outward. As we go back up, we encounter many different soul mates before we finally encounter our twin soul and original soul mate pair. Everyone will eventually have these experiences as part of their process of spiritual growth.

As you evolve and move through the various levels of soul mates on your way to wholeness, it is natural for many relationships to fall away. This includes friends and even family who are no longer energetically compatible. One characteristic of an evolved soul is to have peace in all relationships and to no longer participate in relationships which do not contribute to that peace. This all comes to pass as part of the ever-increasing one-pointed surrender to God which must accompany continued spiritual growth. One finally rests only in spiritual (energetic) relationships, gravitating only to those who are energetically compatible, as it is beyond the body. Jesus repeatedly stressed the importance of the spiritual family over the biological family for this reason.

It is not important that you label someone as your soul mate or twin soul. What is important is that you make the most of each opportunity that comes to you by acting with as much love and devotion to God as you are able. Don’t get side-tracked by focusing too much on external relationships. The relationships you are wanting to have can only come when you are happy within yourself. All the soul mates and twin souls in the world are there for one reason and one reason only…to teach you that all is One, all else is illusion. When you have evolved to that realization, all your relationships will reflect the truth of God’s peace and love.
