Finding Spirit--A short Discertation
Finding Spirit—Short Version
As you begin your journey in search of spirit, it is most important to understand and experience the four components of self. Spirit, Soul, Mind/Ego, and Body. These four components comprise all of what we are today and have been in the past and to some extent what we could become in the future in this life and subsequent lives.
The body is our physical manifestation or host for our other three pieces of self. The body is how we physically create as human beings; create art, children, work, play, and communication in this plane of existence. Without the body there is no mind/ego, however the Spirit and soul do not need a host for their immortal selves. The body is how thought and consciousness turns into action and from which flows genetic intuition. Genetic intuition is the body functions—breath—food---shelter--- procreation—survival etc. The actions of the body can only be controlled through the mind/ego or genetic intuition. The body can survive without the Mind/Ego, soul, and or spirit—but not without genetic intuition. The body does not remember accept through generations of repetitive action which is stored in the genes/DNA. The body does not fear—that is the mind/ego function.
The mind/ego is certainly the most complex of the four selves in terms of balancing it and harnessing the power of the mind/ego for creation. Most humans never come to an understanding of the mind/ego; in conjunction with the body it is the action mechanism for the spirit of the individual to use in creating and healing. The mind/ego is self contained which means it does not need spirit or soul to work and can and is almost always very independent of sprit—unfortunately. The mind/ego is what causes all but two emotions. Fear, sorrow, sadness, grief, greed, hate, anger, etc all come from the mind as does the intellectual concept of love. When people say they love someone it is almost always said from the mind’s concept of what love is. True love can only come from our spirit selves as does compassion. Fear is by far the biggest block to finding spirit. Fear manifests itself into all sorts of actions, thoughts, and feelings that are destructive and totally non-production in terms of our evolution through this particular life and beyond. The mind is mortal—it can die and will never be again. It is just a sophisticated organic computer that can be shut down just as easily.
The soul is not an active part of us as it does not take a role in creating action, thought, or guidance. It is simply a repository of information and awareness of the universe and all our past lives and future. The soul cannot be tapped into by the mind—the information from the soul is a reference library for the spirit. The soul, like the spirit is immortal.
The spirit is our energetic self. It is immortal—it can never die. It will not control the mind/ego or the body but will rather guide them both when the mind/ego is conditioned to “let go” to spirit. The spirit does not fear and therefore does have all the other emotions the mind/ego has. The only true emotions of spirit are love and compassion. The goal of “Finding Spirit” is to become aware of your energetic self or spirit, embrace that self, and allow it to guide your mind/ego and body into a connectedness with the universe through our energetic “oneness”. Spirit is our psychic self—that which “knows” and “sees” and Feels” those things that our mind/ego/body components cannot.
