Freewill

FREEWILL
Freewill is not a single option.
We do not choose our point of origin, gender or general
appearance. We do not opt for natural disasters or control
regional weather patterns. We do not choose present
economic conditions, social norms and values or the system
of government established by our forefathers. We do not
choose the lessons taught by our elders, the degree of
negativity or encouragement with which we are raised.
We are determined biologically, environmentally, socially,
financially, by the thoughts and actions of those who have
lived before us and by the thoughts and actions of those
who live today. We are determined by our own ignorance
to choose from options and alternatives we are aware of.
At the same time we are free. We enjoy freedoms that
reflect tastes and personal preferences, and are free to the
degree of awareness of the factors that influence our lives.
We are free to wage war, to ignore those in need, to
disregard the feelings and wishes of others. We are free to
choose right from wrong, to pursue our own selfish desires,
to destroy life on a planetary scale.
True freedom stems from integrity and coming to terms
with that which is linked to our spirits and that which touches
our hearts. True freedom comes from understanding and
excepting what is. Where freedom is bestowed on the basis
of one's point of origin and or financial standing, there will be
no peace.
Surrender freedom to divine authority, then the change that
we want is the change we will see.
"The more aware we are of our options, the less we are able
to choose. Through surrendering to God as his disciple, we
lessen our need to exert freewill, we follow the guidance
provided by the ultimate, and we adhere to the great divinity.
When one becomes as one with all, all becomes as one
with one."
The real question is, do we want to be free or do we want to
be loved? If we weren’t free to make the wrong choices,
how free would we be if everyone made the right ones?
And how much happier would we be? There is a world
with love, and a world without.
Which of the two is greater?
