The Spirit of Christmas, what a lovely surprise

This is the end of the previous blog post, but it's the most important part for me, and what I felt so good about besides all the wonderful people at this gathering of friends last night at my ADD support group.

I don't have any disposable income so the idea of gift giving is a little depressing. What was really wonderful and what I had originally meant this post to be about was that at teh party, the hosts were getting ready to move out of a house one of them had been in for 27 years! And they were giving away all kinds of stuff. It was really wierd, but I was able to pick out a number of things that would make PERFECT gifts for my family members, including the kids. Even some for myself! And I had been admiring someone recently wearing a hand made Central American wool poncho and wanted one, and they were giving one away! Brand new! And an ice cream machine for the kids, and a necklace that made me so happy it was better than the one that had been stolen from me at a dance camp. But even funnier, the FIRST thing I discovered was a barometer. I had been looking at them in catalogs and said, one day it will be nice if I can have one, and there it was. I got a goddess kit for my sister and on with a dozen other little things. The whole experience was this benevolent affirmation that good things really do happen. It was the real spirit of Christmas and I felt it so deeply.

This is not about the material aquisition of these things. Well, it is in a way, but the fact that I had asked for some of these things specifically and they just showed up. I hope it is a sign that positive changes are happening.
And it did not require a lot of money, just good thoughts.

I hope that you and yours experience the True Spirit of Christmas and Light this holiday season in unexpected ways.

Blessings, S
