Ascension - on a personal level, what has it meant to you?

I think we are all pretty agreed as to what 'ascension' means an a global level. I'm kind of going with the assumption that basically speaking it means the raising of planetary consciousness. But I'm wondering what it has meant to people at a personal level of experience, if anyone would care to share their experience with me...

For me, at a personal level, ascension has been a process through which I have been given the opportunity, and the appropriate lessons, to learn self acceptance. It has meant exploring and releasing my deepest and darkest fears. And it has meant forgiving myself for not being the person I once wanted to be, and thought I would be! At the level of experience, it has meant living with more peace, more joy, more freedom, and more ease. But also more fear, more stress, and more pain! A polarity that intensifies every day. The rough with the smooth!

Anyway, thats me. Anyone else like to share?
