Lesson 2

Hello Brothers and Sisters!

In this second lesson that I offer to you all, I will, in a metaphorical sense, teach you to fly. The first step in this, as with many things, is understanding what you are going to learn in atleast a broad sense. The term of flight has been used several times in the past to describe a sence of freedom by multiple sources, but how does one dawn wings in a spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical aspect? I suppose we will start first with emotional.

The first point to realize when learning emotional freedom is learning emotional security. When one does not know themselves, emotions are often very difficult to control, and some are infact controlled by their emotions. This is not a new occurance on the physical plane, but it is still a rather distressing one. People who live controlled by their own emotions may indeed have a sense that it is fine, but it shows a clear hinderance to balance, and with balance and peace, often comes freedom. This raises another point, if you are controlled by every rampant emotion that crosses through you, in what way shape or form can you ever be truly at peace? The answer is taking charge. Emotions are very powerful tools to us in the process of freeing ourselves and we must learn to take these emotions we feel so strongly and view them in reflection. Why do you feel this way? Are you really justified in this feeling? Where does this feeling originate from? Where from within you does it originate from? What is it that you fear in relation to this emotion and/or situation? These are a few very effective questions if you answer truthfully, which is why I will recommed doing so at a later time than the emotional eruption due to the ussual lack of clear thinking when overly emotional. By practicing this often, you will get nearer and nearer to keeping composure when emotional, and then you will be able to control your emotions while still feeling them. Then, your emotions are free to do their job in introspection. Remember - Eliminate Fear.

Next comes the mental/psychological aspect. Many people do what they know how from basis such as books, magazines, newsletters, friends, idols, parents, etc. This is a hinderance in itself. Perhaps a role-model can be valuble, but a sense of overimportance is often placed on these models. A saying addressing such would be 'Why find yourself when the clay's in front of you?' This addresses making yourself, being who you want to be. In this world, it is much easier to succumb to things and conform as much as possible, but it is very unhealthy. For instance, when in history has there been such crime and hatred? Much of this stems from a deeper feeling of fear - the fear of never being free to be yourself and often the fear of never being happy. Even in the most well off of house-holds, these fears are often present, just not to such outward extremes. By being who you want to be, you gain intense personal power and satisfaction, and this friends, is the first root to mental freedom. A second useful root is treating others how you wish to be treated. Always listen with an open mind and speak with compassion, for you would of course want the same in return, the trick to this is, all roots stem from one primary.

Now we may move on to physical freedom, for it intertwines with mental freedom. Physically, unless bound by some unfortunite circumstance, we are all already free. The key to physical freedom then lies in the free expression of self. In a day's life, we often muffle our own voice, attempting to serve whatever purpose we feel to be greater, but there is no greater voice in your life than your own inner voice. So why do we conceal it? Fear. We fear being judged as unworthy, when in truth, this is impossible since one can only judge onesself. The notion that anyone else could see you as unworthy is simply superficial. They may not like how you do something, and being of poor emotional control will get angry and attempt to hurt you, but they do not know everything you've ever experienced, so they don't know the true you, whom only you can ever know. The only real step to physical freedom therefore is allowance. By allowing yourself to speak and act without bother of what others will think or what will happen is freedom, the only trick on this is that one must still use their sense of discernment, this is important until you know yourself, once you know yourself, you'll do what is right always, because the things which would cause you to do other wise will be gone.

The final step to freeing ones-self is Spiritual freedom, which of course starts with religion/spirituality. I will first make mention that you should always attempt to interpret material for yourself, no matter who that person who offers it is, always review it to see if you agree. Now if you do agree, there are things you need to remember as you walk whatever path you have found. The first is to be free on the other levels of your being, for when you aren't, you suffocate your spirit. The second is to be compassionate to yourself and others, for a lack thereof has the same result as the prior tip. The third thing to keep in mind is to always strive. There are infinite possibilities and one must strive for a large amount of time to truly gain from the abundance which is offered. The final tip is simple - never be afraid to ask questions, by asking questions, we learn, and by learning, we can ask more educated questions.

By completing the cycle of self liberation in the name of self trust, we learn to be at ease in life and enjoy it as an abundant gift. It is much too easy to get lost in this world of the physical.. that is why our guiding lights of emotion, mind, and spirit always shine brightly to illuminate the long quiet path. Once again, I leave a bit unsaid for your contemplation, I wish you grace and strength on your journey.

Namaste - Stay True
With Love - Great Eagle
