When others rain on my parade
with criticism or jest
I look at what their life is like,
if they are doing their best.
If I arrive at an honest yes
I examine their words for truth
If not, I just take a deep breath,
I see nothing to refute.
Do you really understand?
In the end, it’s all about you.
We reap no rewards for what others think,
but only, for what we do.
