Acceptance and Self Faith
Acceptance... Interresting term we have there. It is defined as the act of taking or recieving something that is offered. When one speaks of accepting themselves, they look over themselves and say 'I accept me', but this is not all there is.
First, we must examine ourselves, everything about ourselves. Are we Smart, strong, strong willed, fast, kind, loving, pleasant, accepting, spiritual, grounded, aloof, imaginative, creative, insightful, quick witted, talkative, anti-argumentative, or perhaps even the converse of all that is listed? It is important to begin by knowing yourself, reflecting upon your true nature, not the nature you would have yourself believe. The first step in self faith is acceptance; accepting both the good and the bad, all other work can hold. You are who you are. Learn who that is and accept that beautiful being for what it is. These things, remember, are gifts from our creator.
The second step friends, is a bit more difficult, but I ask you to please hold stead-fast and do this to your fullest capabilities. Remember, there is no such thing as try. Either do or do not. The second step is to look back to the first. Hold the things you like, love, and admire about yourself close to your heart and then begin your work. Those things which you dislike, find as being out of place, find disgust for, and just know are not the real you, those things are your basis. Each thing, for instance with close minded-ness, can not be solved by simply saying 'I don't like you, now go', we must work, for if they were a gift, it would not be right to simply discard. If one is close minded, they would seek to be rid of non-acceptance, for that is what would cause a closed mind. By seeking this with firm resolve, it will be. In other words, we must view even the negatives of ourselves as gifts and must use the gift as it was intended. Everything bad about each of us is a lesson for us to learn, for if we can only see the effect, does this not tell us that there is an underlying cause?
This two step process seems simple, but it is not, and I can only wish you insight on this small journey. To be rid of that which you hold contempt for and only hold what you truly love about yourself close, you learn who you are and can then trust yourself. Without that knowledge, can you really trust yourself, or will you perhaps learn how unfruitful the reward is without the labor? Something to think on and a practice which I am willing to help with should any desire for aid arise. Keep in mind, it's your work, I can only help so much. May this simple lesson illuminate the thousand pathways it touches upon, even if it seems only to touch on one.
