Tapping My Way Into The Future I Want
I'm just back from some time away from my usual environs, and I have realized that I have a perverse current within me that stops me from doing what I know to be good for me. A small example: While away visiting my mother, I was given a vitamin tablet every morning with my breakfast. I always feel great after spending time with my mother. While there, I resolved to take better care of my body and, once home again, to take a vitamin with my breakfast every morning. I knew I would have a tendency not to do this, with lots of excuses for it, so I even got a little vitamin case with the days of the week on it, so I could place it where I would see it every morning and be reminded to take a health-blessing vitamin, for my own good!
Now that I'm back in my own home, I know where the case is. I know where my vitamins are. And I'm not taking them. The perverse current has won. It's like there's a very effective energy block in place. I have talked with many people in my counseling work, and we all have energy blocks that can arise at times. Some people have it around disciplining themselves about what they eat. Or stopping smoking. Or getting around to doing something they say they want to do, but simply don't get around to. It's a little thing, this perverse blockage, which stops us from moving forward with something we know in our hearts and minds we would like to do.
As I observed this in myself, I remembered a psychological technique called Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). EFT is a method of tapping oneself on certain energy meridian points on one's face, chest, and hands. There is a certain way of phrasing a description of one's energy blockage, which is then followed by the phrase, "I completely love and accept myself." When the procedure is followed, miracles happen. People stop craving things that are bad for them. Even severe PTSD or phobias are eliminated forever. Physical healings occur. If there is anything simple that deserves to be taught to every human being on this planet for the good of all, this technique is it.
What the technique does is unblock energy flow in our bodies, where our emotions have come into the picture and caused a blockage. It doesn't matter what the initial cause was. The technique works with the now.
As soon I thought of EFT this morning, I sat up in bed and started using it on myself. I used it for a number of blockages I've noticed since I returned home to what feel like overwhelming responsibilities. I felt blockages release and flow start moving through my body again. I was so moved, I had to express my excitement to you! I intend on using this tapping technique every day as I move into new waters in my work life. There are some changes I have to make, and anxiety about change can be an energy block in itself.
If you don't already know about or use EFT, look it up on the Internet or borrow a book from your library. There is much information out there on it. We all need reminding to completely love and accept ourselves, and this affirmation, in conjunction with tapping meridian points has amazing effects.
If you ask me, "Have you taken your vitamin today?", I will hear, "Are you dealing with your emotional energy blockages and tapping your way into the future you want?" And I'll say "Yes!"
Have a blessed day!
