Strrrrrrrrange.
Hi, I have a story for you and would like your opinions, maybe if you could tell me this is normal or what this means then my mind can rest.
So my Grammie (Grandmother) has an apple orchard of about 8-10 trees beside her house every year she gathers all of the apples and gives them away to members of the family. It's really nice to have some apples grown from the orchard up there. The trees have been there a LONG time. But this year it was different. One week my Grammie was telling us about how there were a lot of apples, then a few weeks later (2) they were ALL GONE! Not one apple left on the tree. They have a continuous flow of deer that do eat the apples that are easy to reach. But this was really weird! She said it was probably the raccoons she has been seeing, plus other animals that would climb the tree and eat them. But even years before they had the same amount of apples and the usual deer and little animals and PLENTY of apples left for us. My Grammie said this has NEVER happened before. Maybe I am looking into it a little more than I should but--STRANGE? Non??
Then about a week ago a rabbit (that usually avoids our backyard due to a frisky Westie pup and a large Lab) came all the way onto our deck, up the stairs and sat in front of our door went onto it's hind legs and was looking right at me on the other side of the kitchen. I walked up to the door and he/she was still sitting there staring at me. I stood there talking to it, didn't know what it wanted, then the phone rang and I talked on the phone with my friend for a few minutes and the rabbit left. The next day the same thing, and a gray squirrel decided to join. This happened for a few days. So finally on around the 3-4 day I decided to give them some food. They were obviously happy. Now everyday at the same time 11- 1130am they come into the yard. But it made me wonder what exactly they wanted.. maybe its a sign of a tough winter? I live in Ottawa, Canada and last year wasn't such a tough winter compared to many years before. We didn't even have snow here on Christmas. Anyway, maybe I'm looking into it too hard, or just making ideas up. But animals usually avoid our yard do to the hyper Westie pup and huge Lab we have, so to me this was out of the ordinary....
