Lake Awosting

This is a water meditation.

One of my favorite places to be.
Lake Awosting on the Shawangunk Ridge in the Hudson River Valley of NY State

It's a 3 mile hike or mountain bike ride (my preference) in to this blue jewel that sits on top of the Shawangunk Ridge. The rocks underneath and all around the lake have copper in them and because of that, the water is crystal clear and filled with minerals.. Very little algae grows there and no fish live in the lake. However, there are ducks, water snakes and lots of dragonflies and other winged beings. If you open your eyes under the water and look into the distance, you see deep blue. It's a magical place of renewal. I can sit for hours on the orange rocks just gazing at the movement of the water.
