Rescue From Within
I would be the last to claim that I had the makings of a poet but, one day these were my thoughts and they arranged themselves for me.
Thought I'd send it out for people to read, especially those who find winter a drag, and to those who need to find rescue from within for other ailments.
And, with a smile, to share with my new friend, I hope she reads it ...... she will know.
Thank you
Winter – such a bore and a drag,
Cold and dreary, we are so slow and weary.
The sun, the warmth, the beaches how they all are missed,
But, to the rescue comes cheer from within.
Remembrances and images provided with warmth from the heart,
Of true friendships, those moments shared in loving bliss.
To hear again the fond, tinkling laugh,
To enjoy the feel of the soft, warm embrace.
And, with closed eyes, a tremble, the wonder of the gentle, enduring kiss.
The winter may do its worst, the heart will prevail,
Hope remains eternal for the warmth to return and remain.
