My Birthday Party - Sept 21st
When the United Nations decided to make September 21st our International Day of Peace, they didn't know it was my birthday. So my party this year was an International Day of Peace party. As people entered, they were handed a colorful Citizen of the World passport. In it were spaces for answers to questions like, "What other countries have you visited?", "What ethnic foods have you tasted?", "What other language can you speak?" "What ethnic sports have you seen?" Guests had to interview each other for the answers, and complete their passport in order to be considered for the prizes that everyone had brought. This mixing of guests occurred while we filled our plates with great food from the International Potluck, each guest having brought an amazing dish from somewhere around the world. The meal was followed by rewrites of traditional children's party games, such as "Pin the Dove on Your Birthplace on the World" while blindfolded. It was a great evening. I am blessed.
