My Gaia

Raffiki's picture

This is my home
away from home
this is the land of my ancestors
my homeland
your homeland
our material, maternal womb

She has given us
all of this

Mother
don't show me these things
i don't want to see any more
i feel your ache in my chest
your heart break
in my own

Don't cry
you're making my tears fall
so much splendour
and wonder
and good

and in the midst of this
there is you
My Beloved
My Gaia

How do i smile
with all this rapturous Joy in my Soul
and cry
for all the aching i feel
radiating light
penetrating wounds
the twin offspring of Compassion

Gaia
oh Gaia
i long to learn from you
the true nature of love
with all this you have given
and all this our stumbling has created
you love and laugh and nurture still

We are returning
we are coming home
but oh, Beloved
My sweet Gaia
our return just would not be
if not for your patience
and compassionate love
through the centuries of our
ever slow and frustated
Awakening
