"Protection" vs "Strength"

A response to all the responses from my post about needing protection:

The issue I have with asking for protection I guess is that if one is always worrying about asking for protection, it seems as if one is living from fear and not from love. Most if not all of the ascended masters taught to 'love thy enemy' and that surrounding them with love, forgiveness, and blessings was the only way to go. If one feels the need to ask for protection, one probably feels vulnerable, which I interpret as fear that someone or something can hurt you. If we are eternal consciousness and not our bodies, we should not worry about being hurt. Maybe it is the vernacular that doesn't sit right with me. I feel nothing wrong with asking our angelic helpers for 'strength', however, 'protection' I see as a fear based word. It's guess it's all in the definition of the word for me. The word 'protection' does not feel good in my gut, it feels like it comes from a place of fear. The word 'strength' to me feels as if it comes from a place of love.
Just my humble opinion.
I love the stir this post has created though! Gets us all thinking about it!
