How do I see God in a person I do not like.

Hi everyone, many times over the years I have been asking myself HOW DO I SEE GOD IN A PERSON I DO NOT LIKE. Today I found a wonderful answer in a little book called THE WAY BACK HOME. It was written by Sri Sri Ravi Shanker. I want to share it with you all.

Someone asked me today how to see God in a person you don’t like, in someone you hate.
Ravi Shanka replied. Have you noticed how it feels to you when you think about somebody you don’t like? Very awful isn’t it? All their negativity reflects in your body. Whomsoever you think of, you imbibe that persons vibrations. And when you hate somebody, you are prone to think about them a lot. So the best way is to see them as a void. Don’t try to see God in them; just see the void, the empty space. If there are a lot of stresses, the empty space is not reflected properly. Then you will only have compassion. You will be able to say,” Oh that poor person, I see why he is behaving like that.”

All feelings come from a void. All thoughts come from a void. Just find out what the source of thought is. Whether it is an invention, an intuition, some poetry, or discovery, where does it come from? All thoughts come from a space, a void, deep inside. Be with that void. A new dimension will open in life.

I’m not telling you that you will always love everybody. It’s not possible because love is not an act; it’s not something you can practice. It is something that happens to you. You have no choice in your likes and dislikes. Do you have a choice? When you go to a supermarket and you start looking at items on the shelf, you like certain things and you don’t like certain things. Your likes are not something you think up or manufacture in yourself and then experience. It is the same with love. It’s easy to say, “Love everybody.” How can you love everybody when you do not love yourself fully?

Love is not an act; it is the very state of our being. In deep meditation, we see that everybody is just a void and everybody is part of our self. Then the flow of love happens naturally. It’s not superimposed. It’s not cultivated, artificial love. It’s something that is very natural. Love is the state of your existence. You can’t but love.

God Bless you all. Have a great day everybody.
