Sun Gazing

I would like to share a morning QiGong and Sungazing practice, performed to the rising sun. It looks like this is an ancient tradition of sorts. I just intuitively started doing this after I found out it was perfectly safe to look at the sun within 1hour of sunrise and sunset. (YouTube Info from other sources below). I was also recently guided during a channeling that there are seven keys to the seven chakras.

Upon a nearby white granite hillside, I stand barefoot beneath a great tree on soft soil, overlooking the town in which I live, this is a 10 minute walk from my home. I start with a QiGong walking technique up the hill and arrive before Sunrise (Approx 15mins). I combine QiGong and Qabalah, opening with a Qabalistic chant to invoke the Arch Angels, I then begin a Standing QiGong technique to open and flex the meridian channels, as the first sunrays appear over the Eastern horizon. I continue the standing technique until the sun has fully revealed itself and sits on the horizon. During this time I focus my eyes on the rising sphere of the sun.

After completing the QiGong standing technique I continue to focus my eyes and attention on the rising sun (Think happy thoughts or none at all), it pulses all the colours of the rainbow with increadible luminosity and intensity, all else around darkens as the eyes focus on the solar orb. Using 108 Prayer beads, I perform a 108 breathing technique. On the in-breath I draw the energy up from the earth thorugh my feet and up the spine, at the same time I draw the energy in from the sun through my eyes. They combine within the Pineal/3rd Eye. I draw all my Chakras to my 3rd eye, and nest them one inside the other. On the outbreath I focus my attention(while still gazing at the sun) upon my mandala being charged up and reaching far across the land. I just allow what ever colours and sounds that manifest to be. Usually by this time the kangaroos have drawn in close, and stand like silent sentinels watching me. They add to the serene morning atmosphere.

Once I have completed the 108 prayer beads, breathing and unifiying the earth and solar energy within my 3rd Eye, I relax and either spend a bit more time just bathing in the sunlight. Or put my shoes back on and give thanks as I depart for home. As I walk I use the QiGong walking technique all the way back to my front door.

I never spend more than 45 minutes gazing at the sun and only within the first 45mins of sunrise. I believe this is something that needs to be approached only if guided to. For a beginner I would recommend start with very short periods of sun gazing and slowly building it up. You can do the rest of the practice and slowly increase the sungazing time. Self monitoring is important.

I will leave it up to the adventurer to discover the joys and benefits of this practice for themselves. Enjoy, create and adapt to what works for you. SHINE on! Love always...
