Collecting EnergyWork/Reiki designations ... strengthening your practice or ego trip?

I find all these different categories confusing ... so many seem to collect the different types of Reiki and I wonder "why?" I met a woman that had a business card that said she practiced Usui Reiki, Angelic Reiki, Sekhem Reiki and some kind of Hawaiian Reiki I've never heard of. Isn't Reiki just Reiki? I mean it is all energy ... perhaps they do different types not because one is significantly better but because it keeps them interested? Maybe collecting Reiki designations is an ego thing ... sort of an "I have 4 different Master certificates and you only focus on one Reiki ... how sad ..." type of thing. Just curious what y'all thought.
Any way, I am babbling ... it is closing in on midnight and I can hardly see straight ... time to go to bed!!
