glossolalia

Hiya everbody!
I would like to talk about glossolalia, the phenomena more commonly referred to as speaking in tongues.
For a run-down of glossolalia the Wiki page has about as much information on this as any other source.
Quick personal history in this area…
I was raised Christian and was baptized in the Holy Spirit before I hit puberty. From the start I was fluent in either this ‘spiritual language’ or gibberish. I exorcised faith in the former. I am no longer a Christian in the popular religious sense (though I hope in the practical literal sense), but I find my self…still speaking in this way.
So maybe this is to brief a post on a topic that is bigger than I can see. I put this in the meditation forum because the effects seem to be a mild form of meditation (are there degrees of meditation, or is it an on/off thing?) in that my conscience mind focuses on the gibberish spewing forth, almost preventing stray thoughts from even forming let alone traversing my synopsis, producing a state of concentration.
I’m looking for folks (I want to say ex-Christians but I don’t want to eliminate potently valuable input due to arbitrary parameters on my part) who have any thoughts on this, be it ‘change your ways son’ or ‘if it works for you do it’ and any observation in between.
Know that I feel at peace about this talking nonsense, but I must allow for a possible spiritual misunderstanding on my part.
