Australian LightWorkers!

Hi all.

My hubby has come to me with something interesting. He's been offered an 18 month contract in Sydney. The idea of moving ... again ... is exciting and terrifying all at the same time. We are Canadian and currently living near Toronto.

I am wondering:

a) what are the rents like in and around Sydney?
b) areas to avoid?
c) good school district?
d) cost of living??

Any info would be helpful ... any info from a Cdn Expat in Australia would be awesome.
