why do my relationships never work?

hi all i would like some guidance.about 3 months ago i came out of a 2 n half year relationship and there was a child involved so got very hurt.then a month after the break i met an old skool friend and we got together and i do really like this girl and want to be with her but it seems so hard.we get on really well until she has had a drink.there are so many things in her life id love to change but cant.i want this to work but i feel it never will and i dont want all my relationships to be like this from now on?any thoughts xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
