Dreaming of snakes

Greetings of Love and Light to all!
I've been having dreams of snakes since one that I had when I was two years old. The first one was of myself leaving the house of a friend of my Mom's who was a Reiki Master through her back door and stepping out onto the top of a flight of four or so stairs that lead down into her yard. At the bottom of the stairs was a coiled boa constrictor. In the dream i attempted to avoid the snake, but tripped and fell right into it's coils. This dream occurred at the same time as my right hip slipping out of place. Since then, I've been having a variety of snake dreams, and since one point in my awakening (about three years ago), I've been consciously attempting to get back into that dream to speak to the snake and ask it's purpose, as all dreams in my dreams approach me with hostility and I want to discover why. Any ideas how I may go about doing this?
