Powerful Meditation to Connect with Nature
This is one of my favorite meditations that I learned some time ago. I am not sure where I found it but I must stress that it is not of my creation.
This meditation, when performed correctly, will merge you with nature and the Source. Unlike other meditations you will not be clearing your mind, rather you will be using all of your senses at once.
Step one: Go outside and sit comfortably in a chair or on the ground. Begin taking several deep breaths until you reach a point of calmness.
Step two: Listen and take in every noise around you, no matter how small, including that little voice in your head. Take in the scent of nature, how does it smell? Do you smell the wind blowing through the flowers or the rain in the air or even the trash can a few yards away. Don't block anything out. Let everything flow. Now stick your tongue out. How does nature taste? Sweet, sour, bitter, pure? Acknowledge it and merge it with your other senses. Touch the ground or the chair you are sitting on. What does it feel like? Does it feel smooth, rocky, earthy, worn? Merge your senses. Now open your eyes and look around. Take in all that you see. Do you see children playing, squirrels jumping from tree to tree, or ants scurrying across the ground? By this point you should be using all of your senses at once, hearing, scent, taste, touch, smell. It will feel quite overwhelming but just let everything flow together and relax. You can even get up and walk around if you feel up to it but you may just want to continue in a sitting position until you get used to it.
It may take some practice to use all of senses at once. It isn't easy but it can be done and is very rewarding for the spirit.
Peace, light, and love to All!
