Dr David Hawkins...positionalities

Dr. Hawkins has had numerous and often times humorous things to say
about the so-called "state of the world" and the level of
consciousness of humanity.
Its easy to look at the various things going one in the world, such
as war, poverty, starvation, killing, etc. and flat out state that
this is wrong and something should be done to change it! To
paraphrase, Dr. Hawkins has stated, "You can't actually say something
is wrong with the way the world is without knowing what the purpose
of this world/realm is." Now that's an interesting statment, isn't
it!
He has also stated that this is a purgatorial realm not a celestial
realm and if it was meant to be a celestial realm, it would be.
Additionally, he continues by saying that it is a world/realm of
maximum karmic opportunity. When an entity incarnates on this planet
there are a huge number of possible experiences that can be had,
including those we consider to be aweful. If one is aweful to others
in a previous life, one may need to be on the receiving end of the
awefullness in this lifetime as a means to salvation. He has also
pointed out that many entities, incarnated as males in this lifetime,
utilize war, running into the bullets and sacrificing themselves for
a higher purpose, as a means of going over the critical level of
200.
If one looks at the progression of the soul or spirit as it goes
from incarnation to incarnation, and does not look at a single human
lifetime, this allows a broader context of "earthly existence" to be
held. As a humorous point, Dr. Hawkins once said, "When its your turn
to save the world, you'll be notified" and another time, "If this was
a celestial realm then why would you be here?" These one liners
brought an uproar of laughter at the seminars.
The ego, in its role of "do-gooderism" (cal. 190, page226 of Truth
vs Falsehood)thinks it knows how things should be and of course has
no idea of the actual purpose of this world. As Dr. Hawkins has
further stated, as each of us goes up in level of consciousness, its
like raising the level of the sea and all of the ships are
automatically raised. One cannot raise a ship oneself by trying to
use force, but all of the ships are raised, without resistance, when
our own level raises. One can then see the wisdom that working on
oneself is the best thing one can do to help humanity. When one turns
the little beetle back over onto its feet, it is done so because of
what one has become, i.e. loving and respectful of life, not because
one is trying to change the world.
Some of these ideas as presented by Dr. Hawkins are at times
difficult to accept because they will run head on into one of our
positonalities. When I am honest with myself, its clear that every
positionality I cling to is only an idea I've accepted and has not
been verified...period. I know of no personal exceptions. Upon
reflection its also clear that the positionality falls apart when
exposed to a higher context. The devotion to Truth no matter what
must be stronger than the ego's grip on is favorite twisted
positonalities.
