a lovely meditation experience - can you explain?

Many years ago ( 1984) I was meditating at home, and heard a sound like tinsel rustling...I saw ( and do you know, for all it was so impressive, I dont know if it was in the corner or just seen in my minds eye,you would think i would know, but i don't) it was like a multi faceted diamond shape, shimmering and shining and gently undulating, made me feel very moved and inspired, and then it was gone, just a few seconds i suppose but wonderful...I asked a friend who is a medium and she said it was a carrot, an incentive, given to keep me meditating ( i had only recently begun to practice) I often wonder about it...has anyone got any thoughts/similar expereinces/...i have had many lovely images, pictures etc whilst meditating, but that one has never been repeated xx
