Today Love Wants You to Know #1
He/she didn't really mean what he/she said. Okay, maybe he/she meant it at that moment, but you know it has nothing to do with you really, and everything to do with him/her.
Most times when not so nice things come out our mouths, it is because we are not happy with where we or our lives are at that moment.
As Don Miguel Ruiz says in his book The Four Agreements:
(2) "Don't Take Anything Personally. There is an awful lot of negative energy out there and some of it is directed at us by other people. If you take it personally and take on the poison of another's words, it becomes a very negative agreement you have with yourself. What anybody thinks about you, or says about you, is really about them. Not taking it personally allows you to be in relationship with anyone and not get trapped in their stuff. This agreement can also pertain to things that we take personally that cause us to go into upset."
So, the next time something comes out of the mouth of someone you love or you believe loves you that doesn't feel so good...stop, take a deep breath, and know as unlovable as they feel to you at that moment, is only a reflection of how unlovable they feel to themselves.
We all have days when it's hard to find one thing we love about ourselves. Remembering this will make it easier to move on if apologies never follow the unkind things that people say at times.
Instead of allowing anger or hurt to set in, silently wish them a better day tomorrow. You have that choice.
