Recycle to get online

The amazingly bad thing about computer technology, is the fact of built in obsolescence within a year or two of production. We all use the computer. When it breaks down or degrades we probably put it on the tip! and is in its away quite obscene in a world of have and have nots and growing shortages in fuel etc. It's getting to be a major problem along with fridges Tvs and Disposable Nappies (Dypper's)!
The laptop I am using at present cost over £1000 ($2000) 3-4 years ago. Some one broke it by dropping it on the floor, breaking the screen. It was sold for £9 ($18) on the Internet. Yes you know the site! I bought it along with another machine for a similar price with a working screen and broken mother board Extra ram DVD ROM all included.
Cobbled it together over the weekend and most people with a screw driver and a little bit of safety knowledge, should be able to accomplish similar things.
I recall my mother's Make Do and mend philosophy from her Generation, as apposed to our Throw away society, I am amazed how much packaging comes with most food items these days. How many million plastic bags? McDonald's Carton's dropped on our streets?
Floating in the sea. I heard on TV that there is an island of floating plastic in the Pacific the size of New York. God help us! and all in a few decades. where are we going?
It makes sense to recycle even by the simple swapping of working parts that otherwise would go to 'land fill' I do not want the Earth to be Twinned with Mars in/by our generation so let's recycle! Please. We've always done it! Why break a habit!
Saves Light Workers money and helps the Greater environment.
No planet. No ....
Has any other LW's found ways of upgrading equipment in a more Green way, ideas of being environmentally aware; be it plastic yogurt pots used as seed containers or TV's for ourselves or others?
Extend Universal love to the Environment.
Cut down on waste.
Namaste
