Clearing oneself of dark or negative energies

I see many ways of clearing oneself from negativity cross my path every day. And so I can understand how confusing it can be for a budding lightworker on the road to ascension. Let me tell you it can take a lot of time or only a little depending on the meditation, visualization, or prayer technique you are use. Funny thing is most of the clearing you need to do is simply a shift in your thinking patterns. What I started doing years ago that tremendously helped me was to simply when I took my daily shower or bath infuse the water and my self with light for the LIGHT cleanses as it reveals. And every place that darkness or negativity dwelt in my life I replaced it with LOVE, PEACE ans LIGHT. I spoke peace to my home every time I cleaned house so that when people came into my home they would feel they were entering into a sacred place filled with the energies of LIGHT and Spirit. I prayed a very simple prayer "BLESSED ALL POWERS THAT BE REMOVE FROM MY LIFE ALL DARKNESS,NEGATIVITY,and ENTITIES NOT OF THE DIVINE OR OF ME. REFILL EVERY THING THAT ONCE WAS DARKENED, FEARFUL, OR NEGATIVE WITH THE DIVINE SPIRIT ENERGIES OF LIGHT"
Clearing can be as complex or simple as you make it. A lot of people want it to be complex and they spend hours and hours listing every negative or dark energy they perceive. Problem with that is that you reinforce the darkness and negativity by constantly dwelling on it. So I really like my way better. If I perceive something that need to be cleansed or cleared from my life I tell the Universe at large I need to change it and ask it be filled with the energies of LIGHT and spirit. Having spent several years in the "deliverance/exorcism" ministry among the charismatics I noticed a very peculiar trait if you are looking for darkness or evil you will find it. If you are concentrating on demons instead of the divine nature you will attract such negative entities to you.
In order to draw the energies of the Light to you, to be a channel for positive entities you must change your thinking patterns. There might be generational curses that need to be cleared away- a past life regression would tell you that and reveal what is needed to do to remove the curse, and you should really not attempt such without help. However I don't suggest that you spend large amounts of money to someone in order to cast a spell to remove a curse. No legitimate minister is going to require an outlay of a large amount of money before they help you get rid of any negative or dark or evil entity or generational curse.
And there are simple enough meditations and prayers that remove not only the curse but any residual effects and entities associated with it. If you have been participating in any self destructive or negative behaviors you must stop doing it before you can raise your energies to a place of being a good channel. Often easier said than done and you might need the help of a professional or a support group to do it. My way of doing things is pretty simple and it works for me. Everybody is going to have their own routine for clearing themselves. You use what works for you. if one thing doesn't work you try something else until it does work.
