Here is one of the many lessons I love written about in Lynn A. Robinsons’ book, Divine Intuition. I’ll share it with you

Trust In Divine Order

“PARACHUTES WEREN’T PROVEN

TRUSTWORTHY BY HAVING PEOPLE

CARRY THEM AROUND ON THEIR

BACKS. THE DEVICE SHOWED ITS

RELIABILITY ONCE SOMEONE JUMPED.

GOD, TOO, CAN BE TRUSTED WITH OUR

LIVES, WHICH WE DISCOVER ONCE WE

TAKE A LEAP OF FAITH.”

-Mary Manin Morrissey

Maybe you are beginning to feel as

Mother Theresa once did when she said,

“I know God will not give me anything

 I can’t handle. I just wish that He didn’t

trust me so much.” The Universe has a

perfect plan for your growth and unfolding

as a human being. In my readings for clients,

I often receive a symbolic image of what

appears to be a jigsaw puzzle that fills the

entire cosmos. I am reminded when I see it that

everyone has a piece of this puzzle that they

contribute. There is a larger Universal blueprint

for the unfolding of the individual’s soul

growth as well as for the human species.

HUMAN BEINGS ARE WIRED TO RECEIVE WISDOM AND GUIDANCE FROM GOD. When a person learns how to listen to intuition, that person hears the guidance that shows the next step to take. You do not have to be concerned with all the details about how to reach these goals and visions. You only need to be concerned about listening for the next step.

Let Go And Let God

You have probably read the words, “Let go and let God.” What is this trust all about? Does it mean that you have no role or any responsibility for action in this process? Letting it go to God always sounded so passive to me, it used to make me anxious. Rather than helping me, I thought of it as giving up on what I wanted. But that is not trust at all.

To trust in God is to believe that there is a friendly, abundant, loving, wise energy that supports you and wants what is best for you. Letting you fears, concerns, wishes, and prayers “go to God” means that you trust in and work with this energy. God will work with you through your own built-in guidance system to help you draw to yourself what you want.

I am most comfortable when I am taking action on something. The concept of seeming to “do nothing” except let go to God has been a tough one to understand and accept. Here is a technique I use when I have been struggling with an issue without results. When you find yourself beginning to worry about an issue at any point in the day or night, remind yourself that you have let go of this concern and that you will receive guidance to resolve the problem.

As you listen for guidance on a daily basis you will find yourself being given one step at a time. The answer may come through as an inspired idea, a dream, or a fleeting insight for new directions. When you consistently look within, asking, “What is the right course of action?” or “What path should I take?” you will be rewarded with wise divine guidance. It will always be there gracing your steps through life. You will find that your fear begins to drop away as you move forward with confidence in all your endeavors.

God In Daily Life

Go with what your inner guidance directs you to do. Sometimes this takes faith and courage. Begin with small steps. As you continue to trust this insight you will come to understand that life’s purpose and mission is unfolding. An invisible intelligence truly is leading and guiding you to a more peaceful and harmonious life.

Following is a prayer from an anonymous author that I find helpful when I’m going through a difficult time”

“Today I am going to surrender my concerns and difficulties to God.

I will rest in the silence and know that confusion will fall away. I

will rest in the peace that I feel. I will have the courage to take

the right action. I will feel at peace knowing that the way has

 been made clear. Amen.”

Here are some of the basic assumptions I make about God’s role in my life:

-          There is a wise, loving and intelligent energy that I call God. This energy flows through me and through all of the universe.

-          I may not be able to see this energy, but I choose to believe that God exists and has my best interests at heart.

-          I believe that God informs me through my intuition about my best and highest direction. The guidance, if followed, leads me to greater peace and harmony in all aspects of my life.

-          I believe that part of what God wants from each human being is to learn to love and be loved. God wants people to be kind, tolerant, and understanding that through our caring interdependence we survive and flourish.

-          There are many paths to finding and experiencing God. You may do it through prayer and meditation, or you may be someone who feels God’s presence most strongly in nature, music, dancing, or art. Some people feel their connection to God through commitment to their spouses, children, and their families, or through service in their communities.

LIFE BE A DEEP LET-GO. SEE GOD

EVERYDAY WITHOUT FORCING THE BUDS.”

You Are Not Alone

I have found a big secret over the 20 years or so that I have been giving readings. The secret is that everyone has had a dark time. I have not found anyone who has not. Along your spiritual path, you are likely to fall into a sort of wasteland. These desolate places in your being do not always show up in ways that the casual observer can detect. You tend to assume that everyone else is just fine and has not gone through the fears, shame, guilt, and humiliation that you have experienced.

How would you describe the time and the circumstances of your dark night of the soul? It might have been a series of failed relationships or an adulterous affair. A financial, job, or business loss may have plunged you into despair. You or a loved one may have gone through a health crisis. You may have felt that God had forsaken you at the time. Everyone has felt lost and abandoned, but it is during these times in the desert that God expands the soul, allowing it to hold more wisdom and love. It is hard for people to understand why bad or difficult things happen when each person is trying to be good and to do what is right. The test is to believe definitely and consistently that the Universe is on your side. Author and minister Marianne Williamson put it succinctly, “The challenge is always to surrender our own will, to ask God to use us in service of healing to world, and to think with love toward all life. The Universe is always listening.”

Exorcise:

The Surrender Box

Write out your worry or concern on a 3 x 5 card. Here is an example: “Dear God – I’m having a difficult time communicating with Rose, my ex-wife, regarding our daughter. I need a new way to open up the dialogue between us and I feel stuck. Everything I’ve tried hasn’t worked. I am surrendering this concern to You and asking for divine guidance to bring about healing.”

1)      Summarize your concern with a question. “How can I communicate more effectively with Rose?”

2)      Close your eyes and go to your inner sanctuary or to the place of peace inside yourself. Take a few slow deep breaths until you feel your energy begin to shift.

3)      Call God to you. Imagine being in the presence of incredible love, light, and wisdom.

4)      Repeat the concern that you wrote on the card. Ask you question. Listen for any words, feelings, images, or sudden insights. Maintain a respectful silence, allowing any wisdom or guidance to enter your consciousness. Sometimes a new option will emerge out of the quiet

5)      When you feel ready, imagine placing this concern in a bubble of light. See it being released into the universe. Know that you will receive further information to help you resolve this issue.

6)      Place your card in a box and place it on a shelf where you will see it frequently. I have my box decorated with the words “Surrender” on it.
