getting rid of the glorified glamor shows

There was a time when political campaigns did not seem so much like a glorified glamour show with contestants vying for mr/miss congeniality and the diamond tiara. When candidates were more concerned with the changes they wanted to make in their administration than in trashing the other person's ratings in the media,when scandal and gossip did not dominate the media either before, during or after the election process. When someone with little experience but great ideals and a good head on his/her shoulders could rise to the highest offices in the land. Abraham Lincoln was one of those and he proved historically to be the right man in office for the troubled times he lived in. He came from the backwoods to the oval office with the knowlege the country needed good leadership. In his day there was not the added complication of mass media to muddy the waters. I am not going to espouse any candidate in this rant. Nor am I going to talk overmuch about the fact that in recent years it was the ones who ran a smear campaign and played dirty politics who9 made it to the highest offices in the lands. I want to address us little people about what we are doing to add to the already enormous difficulties of choosing a president in America.The internet is a very good thing most of the time. And freedom of speech is one of our most valued freedoms. But do you remember the videoes of school children beating up on another child that raised such a furor in the news over the last year or so? Or how recently the news has held stories about children verbally bullying each other in blogs and instant messaging and emails? Where do children learn this behavior is acceptable? Do not we smear the candidates in blogs and postings where children can see them? Do we not spend billions of dollars every year, not just during an election year and not just about politics promoting vicious gossip and violence as being acceptable in the mass media? I am not just talking about video games here. And the Lord and Lady knows I am just as much of a video game player as the next person. Politicians are so concerned with putting each other in the worst possible light when we run for office in order to achieve the most votes that they forget they are APLYING FOR A JOB not being in a beauty pagent and they are not supossed to be inciting people to riots or using any little bit of rumor and malicious gossip to bully the voters into voting for them. As A lightworker this behavior distresses me. especially when I see such postings here and on other sites by lightworkers that make us look like we are anything but lightworkers. People- gossip should not enter into the political arena. But more so when the voters start rooting around looking for things to discredit the candidates or bully the other voters, to prey on human nature and gullible innocents and sway them to the cause it shows how very much ground we as a species have lost in our evolution towards the higher energies. The people running for office bring unique strengths and weaknesses to the office they will hold. They have life experiences and plans for the future that may or may not prepare them for what is waiting for them. This year has been one scandal after another for both the democrat and republican canditates. The third party candidates hardly stand a chance because the media except for the internet never gives them a platform to speak from and some of them might actually be better presidents than the two who have won out through the election process to the winners circle thus far. And the electoral college will not vote for a third party candidate. It is a really messed up situation. What can we as lightworkers do about the situation? First we can direct our energies not to gossip or malign the candidates, rather we can listen really listen to what they propose to do and consider the alternative views. Our meditations and prayers should send the energies of Light, Love and Peace to anyone who holds political office, who is being chosen for such office or who inherits such office. We should send them shields which transform the negative and malign energies into more positive life sustaining ones, we should make sure that those who protect them mundanely have the extra added protection of the divine in their lives. We should recognize that as a species we are evolving towards the Light and so we should not cling so tightly to behaviors that promote wanton destruction of the planet.Our thoughts words and actions have so much power to change things. How are we using that power? Things should not have to become so bad that a country erupts in civil war or armed revolution. Things should not devolve to the point that in order to attain peace five or six countries on either side should have to gather together to solve the dispute with so many deaths and maimings, rapes and exhibitions of the very worst human behavior possible. We need to stop demonizing each other weather it be for political views, religious leanings, sexual orientation, or lifestyle. We should stop trying to judge the lives of others in the public eye when we can't even effectively deal with our own individual lives. If what a candidate espouses to do, and his or her ethical values resonates with your spiritual ascension then that is who you should vote for. Once a leader is elected do everything in your power as a lightworker to make that job easier for them. Its already complicated enough. Just because we have the freedom to speak our 2 cents worth doesn't always mean we should open our big mouths and create scandal. We should hire or fire our leaders by how well they are doing their job not by whether or not they are in their private lives living up to our expectations of morality. Ok I'm getting off my soapbox now. I hope I have spoken with the voice of reason and that we will find ways of using our energies in this election year for the greater good of all with rational and logical thought speech and behavior
