A sermon from Melissa - an experience of hope. A plea to act.
Hello Friends and Family,
I received this little video from my friend, Carol. After watching it, I wanted to share it with you.
Most of you know that I've been 'somewhat' fascinated to understand just what humanity 'is', where we've come from, and why we're here on this earth.
My studies have taken me through the multitudes of religion and spiritual practices, from the inner world of the mind, and more recently to the stars themselves.
Yet, in this one short video, I think the entire spectrum of my studies is shown, and reveals our purpose: to love.
This story shows us our true natures: as mammals that are truly connected; not just with our own species, but with all mammals that share our planet, if we could just remember how to connect.
Our religions have taught us that man is superior to all of life, that is false. Our sciences prevent us from exploring our true natures, by objectifying, quantifying and separating life from itself.
Yet, more and more these limited ways of thinking and experiencing the remarkable privilege we have to experience life on this planet are changing. There are many forces at work to stop us from learning: business, buildings, boundaries; yet every so often, if we pay attention, we are giving something that catapults us to break through the barriers that close us off.
I believe this short video is such an experience.
It is my hope that you will watch it, and take one step to preserve the life of a large mammal anywhere on our planet. The wild horses of America are under siege, every large mammal in Africa is in danger of being removed from the biospehere, whales and dolphins are surrounded by seas of noise that they cannot escape from to find a moments peace. All need your help.
It is said by elders and by people who have regained our birthright of exquisite sensitivity that an 'extinction call' has gone out through the large mammal's group mind. All over the world huge groups of mammals are choosing to die together, the most obvious of which is the beaching of whole pods of whales.
Unless, we as humans begin the journey to reconnect - through sending our thoughts out to them; unless we make time to observe nature, preserve it, and love it back to health - we will lose our original 'brothers and sisters' of our source in Gan Eden.
So, please do something. Send money to save them. Educate yourself about one species and get involved in saving it. Perhaps most importantly, put pictures of them on your altars, or at least your refrigerators and each day send thoughts of support and love to the 'archetype of those species with whom you connect.
Time is short, our species is killing the planet. Only we can stem our populations, correct our mistakes, and learn the power of transcendent inter-species love and communication. It is our birthright as beings created from the clay of our Earth.
Watch this video and discover the wonder and grace that I'm speaking about. We are more powerful than we think, and more universal than we know.
I love you.
Melissa
