I am sharing with you some of the most beautiful poems, prayers and quotes of my Native American people. I remembered that the basis of Native teachings is always about respect. First for yourself and second for "ALL" the world around you because you can only respect anything outside of you only when you fully respect yourself. What really floored me was that I had always seen respect as something I expected to give or get from others not something I give to me without expectations.By accepting all of your experiences both the good, bad and indifferent you will gain Wisdom. Learning gives you Knowledge about life, which is only a set of tools to use to help you move through life. Wisdom gives you the understanding to accept “life’s lessons” and to live within and walk within your own truth.I make this Tribute to the Native Americans Who deserves to live a life of respect and dignity in a place of their choice and their own believes and culture.
With love and light
Namaste

We are all connected to this Earth.
We are all connected to the life forces, that surroned us.
We are all part of Circle~
The never ending hoop of life.
I can only hope that one day,
We will all Honor ourselves,
Honor each other, and the Earth Mother.
I see visions of a world ,much like the one our ancestors lived.
A world of Peace, with all that surronds us.
Mutual respect for all that share our Earth.
Children growing in love,not war.
Stomach's that are full ,not pained with hunger.
A people who are proud to be ,not a people who hold their heads in defeat nor shame, nor anger.
A strong World,A World of love.
We are all of the same creator, made of flesh and blood.
Holding deep inside of us,a Spirit which connects us to life, here and after.
This is my vision for the future,
I hope that you can see it too.
Peace~

Medicine Wheel of the
Four Sacred Directions

"There is more than one door."

The four directions have been honored in original peoples' traditions around the world for centuries. When the four directions are acknowledged with a circle of twelve stones, Native Americans refer to such an object as a medicine wheel. The term "medicine" can mean healing or spirit.

EAST is the direction of air, dawn, spring, mind, illumination and new beginnings. East is represented by eagle. Eagle's medicine is freedom; freedom to fly above ignorance and see with greater perspective. It is often called the golden door or the window between the Great Spirit and this world. Its colors are golds and pastels.

WEST is the direction of water, dusk, fall, maturing, wisdom, intro-spection and courage. It is the void where future lives. West is the dark cave of the bear and the deep ocean of the whale. Its colors are blacks, blues, sea greens and purple. The answers to life come from the west, teaching us that when we learn to be still like bear, the power to find our own answers will come.

SOUTH is the direction of fire, noon, summer, childhood and the spark of spirit. Its colors are firey reds, oranges, and magenta. Different tribes have varying animal interpretations of this direction; coyote, wolf, mouse and porcupine to name a few. This is the direction of childhood and its lessons. It is said that in the presence of fire no negativity can exist. It is in this direction the road to innocence and purity are refound.

NORTH is the direction of earth, winter, midnight and silence. It is the sacred place of elders, the horned animals, the star kingdoms and the great white buffalo, bringer of the pipe and keeper of the mysteries. Its colors are white, browns and greens. It is the direction of the forests, trees, mountains and rocks. To be attracted to north is to be connected to the earth at the place where the medicine wheel to the stars begins.

Original Americans have many prophetic stories that speak of the healing of the broken wheel. We are its healers. They say that when it is healed it will become the whirling rainbow of peace, the forbringer of the fifth world.

True Love
True love is a sacred flame
that burns eternally,
And none can dime its special glow
or change its destiny.

True love speaks in tender tones
and hears with gentle ear.
True love gives with open heart
and true love conquers fear.

True love makes no harsh demands ----
it neither rules nor binds;
And true love holds with gentle hands
the hearts that it entwines.

SPECIAL PEOPLE
The special people in this world are the most precious
and the most appreciated people of all. No matter what
happens, they always understand. They go a million miles
out of their way. They hold your hand.
They bring you smiles, when a smile is exactly
what you need. They listen, and they hear what
is said in the spaces between the words. They care,
and they let you know you're in their prayers.
Special people always know the perfect thing to do.
They can make your whole day just by saying something
that no one else could have said. Sometimes you feel like
they share with you a secret language that others can't tune into.
Special people can guide you, inspire you, comfort you,
and light up your life with laughter. Special people understand
your moods and nurture your needs, and they lovingly know just
what you're after.
When your feelings come from deep inside and the
need to be spoken to someone; you don't have to
hide from, you share them... with special people.
When good news comes, special people are the first
ones you turn to, and when feelings overflow and
tears need to fall, special people help you through it all.
Special people bring sunlight into your life.
They warm your world with their presence,
whether they are far away or close by your side.
Special people are gifts that bring happiness,
and treasures that money can't buy.

Native American Prayer for Peace

O Great Spirit of our

Ancestors, I raise

my pipe to you.

To your messengers the four winds, and

to Mother Earth who provides

for your children.

Give us the wisdom to teach our children

to love, to respect, and to be kind to each

other so that they may grow

with peace in mind.

Let us learn to share all good things that

you provide for us on this Earth.

Great Spirit, God, Creator of All

I welcome You into my heart, mind, body and soul

There is always room for You here.

Grant me the wisdom to heed my inner voice

And the strength to stay grounded while I sing my sacred song.

Guide me down my chosen path and give me the courage to pursue

what is available to me.

I am thankful for the lessons and grateful for my struggles;

I have not forgotten what has brought me to where I am today.

Open my heart to the healing wholeness of nature;

We are all related, and through this I will find serenity.

Great Spirit, God, Creator of All

Cleanse my spirit and wash my soul.
There is always room for You here.
Laurel Singing Water Cat
Out of the Indian approach to life there came a great freedom, an intense and absorbing respect for life, enriching faith in a Supreme Power, and principles of truth, honesty, generosity, equity, and brotherhood as a guide to mundane relations.

To measure you by your smallest deed is to reckon the ocean by the frailty of its foam. To judge you by your failures is to cast blame upon the seasons for their inconsistencies.

Better indeed is knowledge than mechanical practice. Better than knowledge is meditation. But better still is surrender of attachment to results, because there follows immediate peace.
